The Abandoning

Yukine from Noragami (ノラガミ). This particular scene in the anime was intense and I've been wanting to illustrate it for some time. I took some artistic liberty and made him barefoot because I thought it seemed fitting. I have also posted a cropped version to my Scraps gallery here.

I spent most of this piece listening to Oscillate by Daniel Sierra, but the title comes from a song I put on as I was nearing the end of this, called The Abandoning by Love and Death. Unexpectedly, the lyrics were eerily appropriate for this scene and I knew right away that I had my title.
