This is the Nightmare Stag, also known as the Ravenstag or simply the Stag, from NBC's TV series Hannibal. According to creator Bryan Fuller, the Stag "always represented the connection between Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter." I've posted a collection of screenshots of the Stag here.

This mount was made with real animal parts and taxidermy-quality supplies. Supplies used include a whitetail cape dyed black (fabric and hair dye), stained antlers from a young elk or red stag (with two extra tines sculpted on to more accurately represent the Stag), about 6 yards of goose feather trim, 4 yards of rooster feathers, and all the usual supplies that go into taxidermy like the foam form/mannikin, glass eyes, clay, and so on.

This rendition of the Stag is a smaller deer than the first (see The Ravenstag).  Instead of being upright it's in a semi-sneak pose, and the head and antlers are not angled down in an aggressive posture as the first was. It measures 32" tall, 23" wide, and protrudes about 22" from the wall.

Download for full size! Also posted at Tumblr. This mount has been sold.

I have two questions to ask, and sorry if this seems intrusive(your work is beyond beautiful btw) but are the pelts morally harvested? I've been interested in getting a soft form taxidermy for a while, and your work(especially the ones with a fantasy twist) interests me the most; so I just wanted to know if the animal materials are clean from trophy hunting, fur-farms, or such things, before I possibly get something from you.
The second question, which obviously comes after the first one, is: do you take commission? or do you only sell works that you already made?

again, sorry to be a pest, and your work is very beautiful!
